Anyone have an opinion on this DVD? It's produced by Ovation Software (same people that make the AVIA). Does anyone know if the S&V DVD will allow you to calibrate your TV as well as the AVIA DVD? The S&V DVD comes with a blue filter and test patterns to adjust all the TV's user accessible picture controls (Sharpness, Color, tint, Contrast). There are also a ton of other test patterns included on the DVD.

Thanks to those who answer.

Yes, from what I viewed, ... it does as well as AVIA! But, so far, I have not really used it for any real Video or Video Calibration work. I actually bought S&V HT Tune-up for the DTS & 6.1** test signals (**future AV Receiver upgrade - next year?). I did check the DTS REF Calibration Test Signal @ 85 dB, and my Yamaha RX-V995 Volume Control REF Calibration Mark was identical, to my Video Essentials REF Calibration Test Signal @ 75 dB.

I personally use my ole' Video Essentials DVD for all my Video & Audio (has dedicated LFE test signal) REFERENCE Calibration because I can do that quickly (used it since 1999).

Later, I bought AVIA, and I checked my VE Video Calibration settings (no changes req'd) but thought the 16:9 Overscan Test Screen to more accurate vs. VE.

If you're planning to use one Video & Audio Calibration DVD, S&V HT Tune-up DVD should fill all your Calibration needs.
