sound level meter question (1 Viewer)

I was thinking of picking up a sound level meter from radio shack to calibrate the audio in my home theater. Does using one of these lead to a significant inprovement? And could you advise what model to buy? Thanks...

2) analogue version (digital isn't as easy to use)

You'd be surprised how far off your levels are by setting them just by ear.
It's easier with the analog version to get resolution below 1 dB. The digital is tougher. (I had a digital, and just bought an analog because I was so frustrated with it.)
