sound comparison, DT and Ascend (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking about changing my speaker setup and would like some input.

My theater room is in my basement, sheetrock walls with wall to wall carpeting, it's about 1900 cubic feet. Right now I have all definitive technology speakers; BP-6 mains, CLR2002 center and BP1.2X surrounds. I plan on keeping my sub, it's a PB-10 equalized with a BFD. Overall I'm pretty happy with the sound except for the surrounds, I find them a bit tinny sounding.

I'm thinking of doing one of two things;

Upgrading the surrounds to DT BPX's and getting a pair of BP-8's or 10's. Most likely something used off ebay.

OR

Trying out a complete ascend system, (5) cbm-170's for mains and surrounds and a cmt-340c for the center channel.

I know it's a very subjective thing but any ideas on the differences in performance/overall sound?

IMO ascend is much better. I would certainly listen to them.

Wait for the new SE versions of the Ascends. Check it out on their forum.
