In process of selecting a sound card for my HTPC.
Please, some advice and/or commentary.
Questions:
Is the Delta 410 popular because of the 8 analog outs? So you can use the HTPC to decode DD/DTS, etc.?
Same with the Delta 1010 -- 8 analog outs -- let HTPC do DD/DTS/etc. decoding??
Otherwise they just seem like overkill (or is it just me?)
Does anyone use the audio inputs on their Delta to rip CDs? Is this a good way to rip CDs (instead of the normal way via the PCs CD transport?)
Can anyone point me to information about how to use a high-quality sound card to rip CDs?
If you did not want the multi-channel analog out,
would you consider the DAL CardDeluxe?
Would you consider the Delta 44, or Delta 66?
TIA,
-Anders.

i think the Audiophile 24/96 (same brand) is pretty popular for htpc's around here, your receiver is typically going to have a dts/dolby decoder built in so there's no need to have your PC carry that extra load

if you really want a break-out box, it wouldn't be too hard to build one for it, well, save for the midi connections, i have no idea how to wire those if it requires anything special
