I recently purchased a sound blaster X-Fi Extreme Music card for my PC to replace the onboard sound in hopes of better sound quality and performance. Since installing it I have noticed it has slowed the PC down, even after reinstalling the drivers. I notice that things like clicking website links has a delay, or even trying to play a mp3 causes a slight delay before it starts. Even when gaming I notice pauses in the game when it would play smoothly (quake 4 or even less intesive CPU games) Has anyone else experienced this, there shouldn't be any pause at all, and going back to the built in sound fixed it. The system shouldn't have a issue the specs are listed below.

    Athlon 64 4000+ @ 2.64ghz
    2 gigs OCZ performance ram
    Asus A8NSLI-32 Motherboard
    OCZ Powerstream 520W power supply
    Antec p180
Sapphire 1900XT video card (overclocked to XTX speeds)
74 gig WD Raptor SATA drive & 80 gig WD SATA drive
    NEC DVD burner

Have you downloaded the latest drivers from Creative's web site ? I am using the Platinum version of this card, and it works great, better than Audgy ZS

Yup latest drivers for the Card were download, and all other drivers, and the Bios are all up to date.
