Yeah, the way Tony had to shrug off that she couldn't get in because of her knees.. hell, she couldn't get in because the car would freaking scrape the ground
I am new to the Soprano threads, but I cannot help but mention this as I am still laughing.
The scene where Finn (Phin sp?) spots Vito in the parking lot having "sausage" - my wife had a mouth full of macroni and cheese from Church's Fried Chicken (think of KFC of the South) and spit most of it out (because of both shock and laughter) when we all saw who was eating "sausage"
I am now about to clean up the macroni and cheese off of my carpet - one piece almost hit my damned plasma . . .
Predictions:
1. Because of the above, Meadow's fiance' does NOT make it to the altar . . . if you get my drift.
2. Chris's drug problem and Tony's alienation of him in favor of Tony B will cause Chris to become the "Sammy the Bull Gravano" of the Soprano family along with Adriana.
3. Carmella, before the end of the season, and in a fit of rage, tells Tony she slept with another man.
WAY OUT prediction: Carmella hires the lawyer who owned the seaside home that Tony bought last season, as her attorney, and he accepts, thinking this is his way to get back at Tony - and he thought listening to Frank Sinatra every evening was agony . . .
Anyone think Meadow Might Lose two Boyfriends to the Same guy namely the guy who whacked Jackie Jr and whose secret the boyfriend knows? Great ep tonight.
Oh man I was eating when Vito got caught "hiding the sausage" I never laughed so hard in my life Poor Finn will never make it to the alter
I also loved how Carmela is once again reminded that once your a Soprano you will always be a Soprano. She is screwed and she knows it. Unfortunately the seeds for the NY/NJ war have been planted with Tony lying for TonyB. We probably dont get the real payoff until season 6.
Most people missed it but Adriana calling the FBI to report Tony B runing the casino / card game.
Finn had reasons to ask Meadow to marry him 1) to save his life from Vito and Tony (for dumping his little girl) 2) He told her about Vito so if anything happens to him Tony would step in 3) Tony will protect him now
Paulie was the best first calling Finn Shaggy to clean dog shit off his tires then when he found out it was Meadows BF he gave him money.
Great episode...I'm really beginning to admire how the writers are able to turn somber scenes into funny ones (Finn sleeping through his argument with Meadow, the "Peeps" gravestone at the funeral). And while Vito's sexual preferences were shocking, it felt a bit too "out of left field" for me to completely accept.
However, it was nice to see Paula Garces get some work...I haven't seen her in anything since 2002's Clockstoppers.
Favorite scene for me? Actually, it was a little throwaway: the NJ and NY mobs making a pathetic attempt at small talk while Tony and The Sack are talking in the car ("So...how's your daughter doing?" "Uh...OK." [cue total silence]). It reminds me of running into people you haven't seen in years.
yeah the Carmela shot at the end was kinda sad but I've lost all sympathy for Carmela. She knew the rules of marrying a mobster and now that she is tired of it she thinks she can walk away. Carmela as Tony put it so well tonight, lived the good life because of crime and now that she doesn't want Tony anymore she still wants that life of riches but legally she cant touch it. If she truly wanted to be done with Tony then she could walk out the door and be gone forever but she is just as greedy as Tony is and she cant bear the thought of not being rich anymore.
I also take issue with her because after her fling didn't work she was eager to sleep with Tony in hopes of them being together but the second Tony doesn't play by her rules she is quick to play hard ball and go for the divorce. My prediction is that by the season finale she will be begging for Tony to come back.
I too am surprised by how much better Tony is dealing with the divorce than Carmella. I thought he would flounder without her, but she's definitely having more problems with the separation.
I liked how Meadow gave Carmella the lecture on having options and then jumped down Finn's throat for mentioning options. I can see why he's trying to marry her, but man I would have gone running into the night after that Vito stuff.
Yeah if Finn does get wacked Meadow will know EXACTLY who did it, which means that Tony will know who did it. Oh, and all the little details of WHY he got wacked. Not good.
I feel like we made serious progress on ALL of the major themes/ underlying subplots...
"You know, sometimes comin' here is like takin' a shit..." "Thats nice, but I like to compare it to child birth..." "Trust me... It's like taken a shit..."
Finally! An episode where Meadow shows up for more than 5 minutes. And in skin tight clothing.
This was a terrific episode. As mentioned above, I loved the stuff of Tony screwing Carmela out of lawyers and Paulie calling Finn "Shaggy" and telling him to clean off his tires and apologizing, as only Paulie can, by plying him with money.
The sausage bit had me laughing as I had no idea.
Finn did screw up big time in the beginning. If they were too hot and wanted to cool off, he should have taken his clothes off and had Meadow do the same and just have sex with her all night. Might as well work up a sweat that way.
That scene between Johnny Sac and Tony in the limo was awesome. Really amazing acting, and just...wow. I hit rewind on my Tivo and watched it twice before proceeding with the episode. Awesome, awesome stuff.
