I am very close to purchasing my new tv to replace my non hdr Samsung UN55F9000 55" 4K UHD TV. I am about 1 week out from the purchase of the Sony XBR55A9F OLED 4K 55" HDR TV. Would love some feedback from anyone that owns this tv before I pull the trigger on 1/10/19! Am currently upgrading my home theater to better components and here is what I have done and the future upgrades I am planing. Have you had any issues and what changes in the settings did you make to compensate? How do you like the tv so far? Has the picture lived up to your expectations?

Pioneer Elite SC-05 receiver upgraded to Marantz SR-8012 receiver

I did consider it but so far everything I have seen is that the Sony this year has better processing. In the past I would not touch an LG but things have changed and I have an LG 4K display hooked up to my pc. The LG OLED's do look nice but I went off what I have read and feedback from a trusted home theater installer that I know that is also a integration specialist. The two displays it boiled down to was an LG and Sony. Another thing that helped my selection was the Value Electronics TV shootout.

Have not had much time with the new tv yet but so far I am beyond pleased and happy with the new Sony A9F OLED! Currently the picture settings have not been changed and are the way they where right out of the box. Will post my impressions once I get a few movies watched on the new display but again :thumbsup::thumbsup: so far!

Have been living with the Sony XBR55A9F for a few months now and all I can say is WOW! I see why it won the 2019 Value Electronics Shootout Best TV! I have watched content from mutiple sources now including DVD, HD-DVD, HD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray and now 4K Apple TV and Dish Network. When I first purchased my Samsung 9000 series 4K TV I did not think it could get better than that. But looking back I was so wrong on a few levels. My first HDTV was a Sony and then I went with the Samsung but Sony has come home to the Moritz Home Theater! The Sony XBR55A9F impresses right out of the box and I am feeding this Sony OLED with Dish Network, Samsung 4K Blu-ray player, Toshiba HD-DVD player and a new Apple TV. The picture quality is top notch on this tv and the black levels are to die for. This tv doesn't have the numbers on brightness but I honestly have not had a single issue with this tv not being bright enough! Contrast, Brightness, Picture Detail and Black Levels are all extremely good on this TV. The only issue this TV has being an OLED is potential image burn in but I do not pause images and I do not have a council gaming system so it is not a concern for myself. This TV is compatible with HDR and Dolby Vision and includes IMAX Enhanced. Color is also excellent on this tv and 4K blu-rays look exceptional. I know that this tv gets a bad rap on the remote but IMHO the remote is solid and works very well. I will try and do a review by the middle of the year as I want to have more viewing time before doing my review. Sure there are some very nice LED/LCD TV's out there but this TV doesn't disappoint and offers great picture performance and deserves a shot to be in your home theater set up if you are not going to go with a video projector!
