I have a 27" Sony Wega (FS13) and it does have the option for 16:9 enhancement in the menu, but it requires you to enable it manually each and every time you want to watch an anamorphically encoded DVD. I found a setting in my service menu labelled "ID-1" and I was wondering if it bears any relationship with the "ID-1" auto widescreen detection feature that ships with the newer generation of Wegas. If not, can anybody suggest a good remote to program macros with ???

I have the same TV. When I bought it, the step-up model did not have the auto detect feature either, so the extra expense didn't make any sense to me. I used to complain about having to set the widescreen enhanced mode manually, but now my 9 year old son just grabs the remote and does it in about 3-1/2 seconds, so I keep my mouth shut.[IMG]

Funny you should mention that; my 50yr old dad is the only one in the house who can't activate it. [IMG]
