I have an opportunity to trade an old boat (worth less than $3000) for this projector, is it worth it.

The projector has been very well taken care of since new and used less than 10 hours.

I will be using this for movies.

Personal reviews and links would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

The CX10 is really mediocre for movies, and is no longer in production. The main problem is the low contrast (sony doesn't even bother quoting the spec), the second is the screendoor (no MLA), the third is the lack of DVI input, the fourth is the sound (36dB).
You can get a far FAR better projector in the Sony HS10 in about a month for less than $3k. In fact, if your main viewing source is DVD's, you can probably get a far far better projector for $1500 soon (Infocus X1).

I would second that and wait for the HS10. The specs look very good especially for the price.
