That receiver was hot in it's day.

I did some installs with much larger speakers than the Take 5s and it handled them nicely.

Have you heard the Take 5.1 system?

no not yet, just going on recomendations only small speakers i've demoed is the HK's, Klipsch Quintets, and a set made by TEAC, i liked the HK's the best, how much better are the Energy 5's? i'm no audiophile that's for sure and this board is almost overwhelming but i want to get into this because i won't be using my car stereo much in the winter and i need an alternative [IMG]
    thanks

Kyle, the Sony 'V333ES will have absolutely no problems with the Energy Take 5 or Take 5.2 speakers. I run a 'V444ES, which is much like your 'V333ES, with larger Energy e:XL speakers, and the 'V444ES handles them with aplomb. Sony ES receivers have plenty of good, clean power. Finally, as far as one-box surround-sound speaker packages go, the Take 5 and Take 5.2 systems are excellent.

I'm currently using this receiver with Energy Encore speakers (similar to the Take 5 I think). No problems.
