Just bought a Sony KV32fs100, and the picture is a huge improvement over my 27" 12 year old Sony. Only problem seems to be a loud noise when the set is turned on. Dealer said it is no problem, but didn't really tell me what it was. Any ideas?

It's normal, it's just the TV degaussing itself when it starts up. It does sound horrible though [IMG].

Think of it as a "magnetic massage." Helps keep the colors nice and pretty, among other things. Loud on those bigger Sony units, eh?

Degaussing is the TV/monitor removing any unwanted magnetic field. Its normal, it can be loud. It helps keep the image and color normal.
