I have a Denon DVD-2200. I feel that SACD sound quality and CD sound quality is average on the DVD-2200, when comparing it to DVD-Audio.

I am looking at the Sony SCD-CE595 SACD player and I have a few questions on it.
    1) Is the SACD sound quality and CD sound quality better than the Denon's DVD-2200 SACD and CD sound quality?
    2) Is it wise to go from a universal player to a stand alone SACD player?

Not to be contentious, but what is the "average" that you are comparing the DVD2200 to? What other players do you feel it doesn't stack up to?

As to your question about getting a straight SACD player, typically people who do that are running a 2-channel audio-only system, and they find the video-based track navigation on DVD-A to be undesirable.

That said, buying a universal player is a way of "hedging" your bets that one format may eventually eclipse the other in the marketplace.
