I'm on a limited budget after purchasing a Denon 2802 and was considering this sub.

Anyone have any experience with it? Any comments or better suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any comments on the virtues of front firing vs. ground firing would be greatly appreciated.

Though the search may have been disabled when you posted, a search for "Sony Subwoofer" will yield you a lot of good posts discussing this sub. Read them.

This is pretty much the best woofer in it's price class (less than $200) but you certainly can get a better sub with more money. If you get this as a starter sub to build your home theater, I think you will be pleased as long as you properly calibrate it. Additionally, you should find some posts on how to upgrade the sub with poly-fill to improve the bass response.

Limited budget or not, this is a fine sub for a home theater. Just calibrate it correctly.
