Do any of you guys with this subwoofer know the impedance and the sensitivity of woofer driver.I want to buy a better driver from one of those car audio shops and I just want to make sure I get a woofer that is easier to drive than the default one and am too lazy to open the subwoofer to see for myself.Any help would be appreciated.

Putting a car audio sub into a HT sub has been discussed a few times recently, and is not a great idea, IMO. Try a sub made for HT. Sorry, I don't have the specs.

Audio Review has many reviews discusing the moddifacation of the Sony model.

Driver swap is generaly a bad idea, but some have found a cerain JL Audio driver to preform well. One poster actually took measurments (in his room) for spl, frequency smoothness, & extension before and after the swap. He said the JL won hands down to his ears and according to the data.... You will have to read allot of AR posts but it's their somewhere.
