I just got this turntable cheap off of ebay and it doesn't come with a manual. I have an Aiwa receiver with a phono jack in the back of it, but there still is a very soft sound, even with the volume up. I'm guessing I need a pre-amp of some sort? I thought that if your receiver had a phono jack, and not just aux, it is fine. Anyone have a thought on this? My receiver is an Aiwa AV-D58.

Heath, I put in a new cartridge and now it's fine. Sounds great. The thing is, now the button that you push to make the needle pop up doesn't seem to work, nor does the stylus force anti-skating knob. Have I messed something up? Is there a way these functions don't work due to a needle replacement? It's as if all the functions on the player now no longer work. I'm baffled. Guess I'll unplug it and try again, though I don't know. Very weird.

Never mind. Question answered. It was the adjustable weight thing at the back of the arm.

Sounds great now that I've put in a new cartridge. I've wanted a turntable for a while now, and now that I moved from small town Kansas to Fort Worth for school I have much more access to 2nd hand record stores and such. I'm lovin' it.

Wow. I have a PS-X600. Fantastic turntable in my opinion. About 3 years ago, I got it rebuilt because I honestly didn't think I could do any better with today's units unless I spent more than $1500. They don't make 'em like they used to! [IMG]

Free plug for where I had mine worked on. Came back as good as new:

Send me a PM or email, and I'll send you a copy of my manual if you want.
