Sony has the rights to this classic, but won't either release this themselves or let others release it. Come on Sony have a heart and release this, pretty please!

If you check the Studio Day report at dvdfile.com, it mentions that this will be an Anchor Bay release next year.

RankinBass.com is confirming the summer release of Mad Monster Party by Anchor Bay, along with some other seldom-seen Rankin Bass specials. Also, the Rankin Bass animagic special "Jack Frost" is available in Canada, and can be found at some US Kmart superstores for about five bucks -- and they say the quality is excellent!
And of course, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" is coming to DVD by Easter from Sony Wonder. Looks like this will be a great year for fans of Rankin Bass!
    From www.rankinbass.com:
"MAD MONSTER PARTY, THE DAYDREAMER, and THE WACKY WORLD OF MOTHER GOOSE are slated for a Summer release from ANCHOR BAY on DVD. So far, it appears rankinbass.com will assist with graphics, booklets and special features! Our Archives are EXTENSIVE on all 3 films which were Co-Produced with JOSEPH E. LEVINE. Look for special edition DVDs later this year!"
