Thanks, Todd -- but, with apologies, I'm not interested in any of the titles offered, in 4K or otherwise.

What I would like from Sony is a 3D blu ray of 1983's Spacehunter. They released it via Mill Creek in 2D and I'm sure sales of that have underwhelmed; a 3D release would get a very different kind of reception.

Lawrence of Arabia was my write-in candidate. I think its our time to let our voices be heard when it comes to that title and others.

Lawrence was mine too. How Sony could do a survey and NOT include it as a viable candidate, considering the Blu was mastered in 4K, is frankly, beyond me. Oh well, here's to hoping they do a Lawrence disc in the future.

Maybe it’s not included because they’ve already determined that they will be releasing it at some point. That to me is the most logical explanation.

Perhaps, but, I look at it as an opportunity for affirmation to them on how much we want this on 4K/UHD disc.

My write-in was Born Free, but I like what battlebeast picked even better.

Born Free is already available in fine form courtesy of Twilight Time and The Talk of the Town would be just great to see.

I wrote in Sahara with Bogart because the DVD isn’t great and there isn’t even a BD - I’d love to see this properly cleaned up. I can’t imagine anyone else voted for it so I have no allusions that it’s immediately forthcoming, but I figure it can’t hurt to let them know that at least one person remembers that movie.

    Josh,

That film is among my favorite films of all-time, but I would be very happy with a Blu-ray release of it. In the meantime, my HD Digital of it will have to suffice for now. Considering the 4K/UHD format, I thought asking for "Lawrence of Arabia" with a 4K DCP already prepared was more appropriate for my request.:)

I'm not 4K equipped, but if I were, out of the list of titles they provided I would want Big Fish the most. Since there was a large enough space for write-in votes to include comments, I also wrote in that if they are doing Big Fish, it should retain the extras from the DVD (which, except for the commentary, were all dropped from the Blu-ray edition.) I'd really like a Blu-ray double dip of this which corrects this oversight so I can dump my old DVD.

I didn't even think about Lawrence in this context because I assumed there already was a 4K version of it. It seems like such an obvious title to go 4K, I would launch with it if I were in charge of the studio's 4K output.

Most of the films they included in the survey are more modern -- like The Mask of Zorro from 1998 and Big Fish from 2003 -- so maybe they didn't include Lawrence because they are focusing the survey on more recent films. It's a classic, but it's not an especially recent classic.

    Jake,

They got Lost Horizon, It Happened One Night and Lady from Shanghai. Two films made in the 1930's and the third released in 1948.:)

My write-in was Lawrence too, plus The Odessa File (but I doubt the latter will get considered any time soon).
