I just bought a Sony KV-32FS120 TV, and I wanted to know if a Progessive Scan DVD player would make a difference in picture quality on this TV?

No. You need an HDTV set or an EDTV set for Progressive Scan to work. Your Sony is an SDTV set.

I always thought that Component Video was Progressive Scan. But my old Sony NC-600 DVD players has Component video jacks & my New TV has them also. But I guess not.

Norm, Even though the FS120 is not an HDTV or EDTV for the best possible picture quality from your DVD Player use the Component Video Jacks. How Jacks rate for Picture Quality:
    1. HDMI or DVI Jack (HDTV or Progressive Scan)
    2. Component Video Jacks (HDTV, Progressive Scan or SDTV)
    3. S-Video Jack (SDTV)
    4. Composite Jack (SDTV)

How do you like the new Sony FS120 so far & how is the sound quality on it?

I know, I have it hooked up that way already. Just wanted to make sure I about the Progessive Scan.

I love this TV. SD looks great on this set, way better than any of the HD or ED TVs I tried. DVD looks great also. I feel the Star Trek Voyager DVD even looks better on this set than the Panny 34" HDTV I tried.

I'm using my Sony 5.1 Reciever for sound not the TV speakers.
