Sony KP-51HW40 TV with digital cable?

    Hello everyone,
    We are getting ready to buy a Sony 51HW40 TV and I was wondering how it does with digital cable? I am trying choose between DTV and cable and wondering what the difference where.

    Jeff,
    Get right up close and personal with your present tv. Look carefully for digital artifacting or any other faults in the picture. Anything bad that you see will be greatly magnified by the rptv. If the picture looks nice and clean, it will look good on your new set.
    The choice between sat. and digital cable is dependent on how much compression of the signal is going on, DirecTV does not look as good as it did 5 years ago when I first got it, but most channels still look better than my analog cable. If your local cable system isn't carrying any HD, then your only alternative will be Dish or DirecTV and local OTA (over the air, from an antenna) reception for HD.
