Ok, a pal of mine just got a 46WT510 and we're wondering what kind of DVD player to get for it. This TV has a deinterlacer (not sure if it's the DRC, Cinemotion, or the MID X) so I'm thinking he can use his old non-progressive DVD player and let the TV do the deinterlacing. Good option for him cause he's on a very tight budget and there's still a bunch of other stuff to get.

    That will work, right?

And, what's the rep for the deinterlacer on this TV?

    Thanks.

The DRC in that set is at least as good as in most cheaper progressive scan players.

    It has 3 settings:

    1-interlaced--upconverts incoming 480i to 960i.

    2-progressive--upconverts incoming 480i to 480p.

3-cinemotion--upconverts incoming 480i to 480p and adds 3/2 pulldown for film sourced material.

He'd probably have to spend upwards of $150+ to get a progressive scan player with a noticeably better picture than what the set can do, unless his current interlaced player is junk.
