Meh. The most interesting title announcement was in the header.

You'd think with a lineup like this they've run out of catalog titles in their vault.

I'm beginning to really hate Sony/Columbia.

Road House - the Patrick Swayze flick?

I think, I'll be picking up Some Like it Hot, because it's on my wishlist for quite a while now.

As I recall, the old MGM/UA disc was not anamorphic. I'm not surprised Sony is releasing this, as any Marilyn Monroe title would be considered a "sure thing" for a library release. In other words, you can suggest it to management without having to worry about losing your job for doing so, unlike the Scott/Boettichers, "Witchfinder General", etc.

Looking forward to the Some Like it Hot: CE.

Question: Is the Edison Force the same movie that stars Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, LL Cool J and Justin Timberlake that was shown at the Toronto Film Festival?

I have the last special edition of SOME LIKE IT HOT. It wasn't an anamorphic transfer (though it was 1.66:1 aspect ratio), but it looked OK to me. There was an interview with Tony Curtis and Leonard Maltin where Curtis went back on previous negative comments he had made years ago about Marilyn Monroe.

The extras will determine whether I double dip on this or not. At the moment, I'm thinking of skipping the release.

No offence to fans, but "Roadhouse Delux Edition"? What the FUCK!

They have 3 genuine classic Leone films, fully restored on the shelf, for a YEAR, and we get a double dip on "Road House"?

Now I didn't mind "Hudson Hawk", but I can honestly say, this film needs no double dip special edition treatment.

    This is just insane.

Chalk me up as one who likes "Road House". It's a good rough and tumble popcorn flick. It'll be interesting to see what is actually included in this 'Deluxe" edition. I'm frankly content with my existing copy. As for the DTV sequel, I read about it a few weeks back. I'm hoping it's as fun as the first, but I'm not getting my hopes up. lol

I'm surprised you're just beginning, I've been there for some time now[IMG]

This lineup is more evidence that Sony/Columbia is the worst studio releasing DVDs, nobody comes close.

It's interesting Kevin Smith did a commentary, as he and Scott
Moser talk about Road House for about 10 minutes on the "Clerks X' DVD, only to joke that they should do a commentary for that movie.

I'm still not buying it though.

And we're relying on Sony to guide us through Blu Ray...

    This should be good.

With all the first-time movies Sony has yet to release, they give us yet another edition of SOME LIKE IT HOT? Please.

FYI, the old Some Like It Hot DVD is really 1.75:1 and has a huge amount of DVNR applied to the video. No idea why it wasn't 16x9 enhanced.

That's why when I look at the titles in my collection, it looks like this: Warners, Warners, Warners, Sony, Warners, Warners, Paramount, Warners, Warners, Warners, Warners, Fox, Fox, Warners, Warners, Warners, etc. [IMG]

Not nearly enough (there are some). [IMG]

I'm blame Warners. I see a Criterion I'd really love to watch for $25. Then I see a box set from Warners with movies I'd realy love to watch for about $8 each. The cheap part of me wins out every time. [IMG] Maybe when Warners runs out of great movies to put out, I'll get some more Criterions. But with Film Noir 3 (and maybe 4), Tough Guys, Bogart and other great sets coming out this year, it's hard to find the money or time for the expensive stuff.
