I'm wondering if the new Sony HS20's are the equivalent of the XBR400's, which are being replaced by XBR450? Wondering if I should buy a 32" XBR400 for $1800 from GoodGuys right now, or wait for a new 32" HS20 which may start at that price if not lower...
I'm planning to buy a 3:2 progressive DVD (the new $350 Sony), so I don't suppose I get much benefit from XBR450...
    Thanks!

yes, it's essentially the same thing (different color and remote). XBR450s have the new 3:2 circuitry and the HS20 does not, so if you have a prog-scan player, the HS20 is probably a wiser choice!

    Thanks for confirming that.
Do you think I'll be able to find 32" HS20 in the near future cheaper than 32" XBR400?
    Thanks.

OK... I bought an HS20 (reasonable price at Video Only in San Mateo)... together with Sony NS700P.
They'll have the TV for me in 2-3 weeks. Instead of celebrating, I can only worry about how the set will turn out, geometry, etc. Will the service menu be the same as in XBR400 (seeing as no one here even has an HS20 yet to help out.) Will Sony have a service manual available if it's any different from 400. (I only have 30 days exchange..) Not to mention that all the discussions on this forum on adjusting an XBR400 that happened back in 2000 now seem gone forever, and nothing earlier than Feb2001 seems to turn out in searches...
