Will a Sony DVP S300 DVD player pass a DTS signal through its digital out jack so it can be decoded by a processor? The player only lists Dolby Digital. Thxs.

If the player doesn't have a DTS logo printed on its front fascia, then it won't output DTS (the 300 pre-dates DTS capable Sony players by one generation). You will need a newer player if you want to hear DTS. Sorry!

I have the 300, and no, it will not pass a complete dts signal from a DVD. Some sounds come thru, but not all.

However I have heard that dts CD's will work fine, since they are encoded differently.
