    Hi

I have the WEGA KV-36FV26 (not digital) and have been using a panasonic dvd player connected to it via component cables.

It (the player) died and I was thinking about getting the Sony DVP-NS700P. I plan on getting a tv that can handle progressive scan in the future so that's why I like this player. My question is that can I still use the component cables to hook it to my tv even though I dont use progressive scan?

    Thanks!

    Dave

in a word, yes. 99% of prog scan units allow you to switch between interlaced and progressive for the component outputs

Sony DVP-NS700P belongs to one of these 99%. It has a selector on the back that allows you to switch between progressive, interlaced and selectable output. If you choose selectable you select the output format through the menu.
