Sony DVP-650p and Memorex DVD Plyer ?'s (1 Viewer)

Greetings!

I've got two questions on the aforementioned players;

1) My wife had a Sony DVP 650P when we got married, and we just moved and when i went to put it in the rack I was surprised to see that it had component outputs. I'm wondering if this player does progressive scan or no? (If it has component outs, is that inherently PS?)

2) When I bought my new 57inch wide screen Hitachi, Sears threw in a Memorex progressive scan DVD player. Can anyone tell me who makes these for them? It seems fairly crappy, but I haven't watched anything on it yet, so I don't want to assume the worst... I'm assuming the Memorex didn't retool one of their magnetic tape production facilities to crank these things out, so I'm guessing they outsourced them... Anybody know to whom?

I have a 650D (not P). It has component outs but does NOT do Progressive.

Perhaps someone with a "P" will chime in.

Component-video outputs do not translate into "progressive scan"—though prog-scan requires wideband component outputs. The 650D is not a prog-scan machine.
