sony dvd player problem (1 Viewer)

I have a Sony DVP-NS700P DVD player with progressive scan. I have never had a problem with the unit until I tried watching "Black Hawk Down" and "Riding in Cars With Boys". About half-way through each movie, the player will all of a sudden pause for a second, and then skip to a random part in the movie that has already played. It doesn't do it consistantly. Both the discs are made by Columbia, and no other discs have given me a problem. NO...i'm sure it wasn't the disc, because I exchanged them both, and the discs have not done such a thing on my Panasonic RP-65.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like the flagging on the DVD's layer change is malfunctioning. To isolate the problem, try playing the discs on another player and see what happens. To this day, though, certain players have problems with certain discs.

I also have a DVP-NS700P and I also have the same problem with certain discs, like American Grafitti and UHF.
