Sony DVD Player Freezes and then Skips channels very badly. I have tried cleaning the lens and nothing works. Sony wants a bundle to repair and I'm looking to buy a new one if I cannot get it to work.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix it or should I dump it?

I wouldn't bother trying to fix it, the repairs will probably cost as much or more than the player, and could approach the cost of a new one.

and a new one will likely have better PQ/SQ and features.
