My 530D shuts itself off sometimes and refuses to power back on.At first I thought it was heat related but it now happens after being turned on for 1 or 2 minutes. The unit is out of warranty.
Has anybody seen this before and know what might be causing it? My Sony 945 receiver shows a status of locked when this happens. The problem is happen more and more frequently.

I had a Panasonic that did nearly the same thing. It would play for a while, then pixelate and stop, not shut off. Seemed to have something to do with heat, but I wasn't sure. Also out of warranty, and repair was going to cost nearly as much as replacing it, so....
My current player is a 560, BTW. Hope I don't run into the same thing.

Hello to everyone I am new to this forum been lurking for awhile lots of good information. Time for me to give back.
Mine did the same thing earlier this year the tech told me it was the solder joints. It ended up costing me $180 to get it fixed because they had to re-solder. looking back I should have just bought a new one but I had it fixed.
If you can find someone to give you a free estimate on what it would cause to get it fixed that way you can decide if it's worth it.
    good luck.

My estimate was $80 just for them to open it up and look at it.
