I'm torn between these two. I can get either for about $1000 so I can't really decide which one to get. The sony is a tube where the panny is a widescreen projection. I don't really like the idea of watching regular tv with a distorted picture because of the widescreen. I plan on getting something like the Samsung DLP in a few years after most all tv channels have HDTV. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The Panny is not a good set. Get the tube and save up for something larger in a few years.

How can you get the Sony for $1,000?

    Thanks

Why is the Panasonic not a good set? I brother has the 47 inch model and once ISF'd looked terrific. My father in-law has the 53 inch model and it looks great without ISF calibration. HD is fantastic on it.

I've also looked at these sets in stores and they look every bit as good, if not better, than sets in the same size range from other manufacturers.
