I have a Sony 36HS20,and I love it. When the TV detects a 1080i signal, it aotumatically locks in the the anamorphic squeeze mode. This is fine for true HD programming, but there are times when I want the squeeze mode off.

Is there a setting in the service menu that will let me set this to full screen?

Thanks,

Eric

Go into the Menu and choose Setup. Be sure that the option for 16:9 Enhancement isn't Auto. Page 56 of the manual has more information.

This works when the signal is 480p...however, when it senses 1080i,the 16:9 enhancement option is grayed out.
