Just curious if I will actually see a huge difference in picture quality with a Progressive Scan DVD player on this set.

I am currently using a Sony NS300 DVD player (non-progressive scan) connected with component cable, and it looks ok, but I've heard progressive scan is better.

    Any thoughts?

I have a question about the XBR400 also. Should the DRC be on progressive if you have a progressive scan dvd player?

Wont notice a huge difference, but you will notice one for sure!

The XBR400 doesn't have "Cinemotion" circuitry to recognize 3:2 pulldown, so if the progressive player has it, the difference will be quite noticeable. One thing that you'll loose with progressive scan is TV will stop recognizing anamorphic discs and you'll have to put it into the squeeze mode manually but it's not a big deal.
