I'm sure this is repetitive, but I couldn't find a good thread on it since so many come up when searching for sonotube related topics.

Question is if there is any difference between a sonotube sub and a box sub with the same internal dimensions? Is the sonotube craze just a floor-space saver?

Floor space, easier to build and lighter. Sound wise no difference.

A box requires proper bracing and/or very thick walls to be sufficiently rigid not to flex. A sonotube does not as it is a cylinder (the endcaps still need to be thick though).
