I was playing around with a speaker program that i downloaded of the net.
The program is called WinISD and just for kicks i was going to do a test between the Audiomobile M2012 S24 DVC driver & the Hsu ASW1202M i made each cabinet for each driver 130 liters and each cabinet was tuned to 20Hz.
Each sub had 200 watts of power & the thing that shocked me most is that the hsu had more SPL from 10Hz all the way to 100Hz and even longer.
I dont get this i thought the MASS2012 was a high output cone but the hsu had about 117dB@20Hz @1 meter away while the Mass only had 111dB@20Hz @1 meter away.
Is this right ? i am confused here is it because the Hsu has 100dB sensitivity and the Mass only has a 90dB sensitivity ?
Or would the Mass sound better if it had more power cause the Mass power rating is 600 watts while the Hsu only has 250 watts power handiling.
So what i'm trying to say is if the Mass had way more power it would go louder ?
Or do you think its the program ?
Can you post your thoughts here please
    Thanks.
    Again
    Hsu ASW1202M: 100dB sens - FS of 23Hz - 13mmXmax
    MASS 2012 S24 DVC: 90dB sens - FS of 23Hz - 19mmXmax

I wouldn't hold my breathe on the accuracy of WinISD, IMHO.
    For freeware look at UniBOX.

    Max,
It sounds like something's a little screwey in the program.
The Hsu is an excellent driver, but it's not a Mass12. Are all the parameters correctly entered?

The problem is WinISD has zero concept of displacement. You apply 100W to a driver? It takes the 1W output at ALL frequencies, and adds 20 dB. 1000W output? Add 30 dB to all frequencies. Basically, it's worthless as far as power predictions go.
If you have an earlier version of Excel, then Brian Steele's spreadsheets athttp://www.diysubwoofers.org would be a great choice. They at least include maximum power handling graphs, which are really quite useful (for instance, the Hsu would be bottoming out down deep with 10W).
Overall, WinISD is really worth what you pay for it; Unibox, Steele's spreadsheet, or even the venerable BoxModel from from Bullock & White (http://www.muohio.edu/~bullocrm/) are all much better products.
