I have not had it very well today. First I find that Futurama has been cancelled, then that nobody but me is happy over Friends ending next year. I need to be cheered up badly.

Well, it could be worse. You could have actual problems.
(Wow, two jabs in a day. Don't take it personal, gotta fill my quota, you know. ;) )

I also couldn't care less about Friends ending next season. How's that? Does that make you feel better?
Not only Fururama, so it seems now, but Family Guy also....
:frowning:
Waaaaaahhhh, now I don't feel so good anymore either.

Damn, its terrible isn't it. Firstly people act all unconcerned when a program you like ends, then they won't join in the fun at laughing at fans of a series you don't like that will end as well.

People are just so insensitive at times.

This should make you feel better:
Some people don't even have a TV. I wish my daily problems were as simple as that of cancelled TV shows :frowning:

Dude,
I concur here. If your only problems are TV related, then you need to get a grip.;)

You don't have to watch Friends, you know. :) If Friends is as bad as you think, it should have ended a lot sooner for you.

Okay, here goes:

"Happy-happy, joy-joy, happy-happy, joy-joy, happy-happy, joy-joy-joy!"

There! Don't you feel much better?

(BTW, Ike, I did a spit-take when I read your response!)

I would be the happiest person in the world if these cancellations were my only problem.:p)

Futurama is OK, but I have never partaken in the viewing of Friends.

Matthew, I just got off the phone with Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, and Liv Tyler, and they agreed to a non stop 24 hour orgy at your place.
How's THAT make you feel!;)

Here's a cheerful little poem that I always turn to when feeling a little blue:

"I saw the body spread on that dank stone,

And knew these things which feasted were not men;

I knew this strange, grey world was not my own,

But Yuggoth, past the starry voids - and then

The body shrieked at me with a dead cry,

And all too late I knew that it was I!"

Hope that cheers you up a bit!

That's good, but those are not my only problems. Those are just the ones that were on my mind at the time, and I feel better now. I'm not THAT shallow.

And Michael K, I take comfort in the fact that the news media's standards today are so low they'd report celebrities on the can if they could. Whenever a long-running series, no matter how deserved or undeserved, is about to end, there's always media coverage.

Look at it this way:
Futurama will never run out of ideas and become the 'what crazy thing does Bender (the Homer of Futurama) do this week?' show. Much like bands that break up after their finest album, Futurama will end with its integrity largely intact, and with a solid (albeit short) run of episodes that will take up minimal space on your DVD shelf.
And fellas, he's just looking for cheering up, not a lecture about 'where his priorities should be.' :) I may have vast political pursuits and a concerned worldview, but sometimes it's the small stupid 'trivial' things that keep me afloat in times of turmoil.
Cheers all, and peace,
Joseph
