    Ok people...
I need some help. My Psychology teacher is offering 3points extra credit on an exam if we come up with the answer to this question...
What movie is this quote from?

"In space, no one can hear you scream."?

I think it is either Alien or 2001...

    Thanks,
    dan

I believe it's from Alien, although I'm not sure if it was used in the actual movie or not. I know it was used in the trailer/promos for the movie, if that helps.

Yeah, it's not a quote in Alien, but was used in the advertising campaign. It's quite possible there is a trick going on here. The quote could well appear in a movie referencing popular culture. I'd 'Google' it and stuff.

Of course, maybe your teacher is just phrasing the question wrong.

It is from the advertising campaign of ALIEN (1979) The words are not actually spoken in the film, but the phrase achieved it's poularity in conjuction with ALIEN. Was it spoken in an earlier space film? Possibly.

Alien. Great film and DVD. Would have liked to see a documentary.
My favorite feature though was the two isolated score tracks. Great score by Jerry Goldsmith. Can't believe the score is no longer available to buy!!!!

And the best part of the "In space, no one can hear you scream" line? ...that's the promo for it, yet in the very first minute of the film you have the spaceship's engines *hmmmmm* 'ing through space. In space, no one can hear you scream, but apparently they can hear engines just fine.

    "Lived any good books lately"

... ok, may be not that recognizable, but it's still cool.

I prefer the parody in spoof advert in a student magazine of the time - 'In Space You Can't Breathe'.
