MGM re-released back in 2007, but that doesn't mean anything now a days to studios. Do you think they'll re-release it again to coincide with the 50th Anniversary?

If it does, it may be the same version with "50th Anniversary Edition" slathered on it. You may as well just watch the 07 one again in tribute.

Imho, the only thing they can do this year is give it a proper Blu-ray release and port over all of the features from the 2007 release. Other than this, I really don't think a new edition will be forthcoming anytime soon.

I was reading "I Thought We Were Making Movies, Not History" by Walter Mirisch and he mentions there was a pilot for a proposed tv series based on the movie that had appearances by Tony Curtis & Jack Lemmon in it, that would be a great extra to have.
