I'm looking for software that will tell me technical details about a DVD disc. For example,
    • if a title is anamorphically encoded
    • what language tracks are available (and preferably at what bitrate)
    • what subtitle tracks are available.
    • whether the disc is single or dual layer.
    • any other information.

I figure there's gotta be a utility out there that does this. I searched the forums but couldn't find any info.

    Anyone????

PowerDVD gives you most of this info.

Play the disc and select "Show Information" on the right-click menu. You will get an on-screen display with most of those specs.

To determine single-layer vs. double-layer, look in Windows Explorer. If the contents of the disc are greater than 4.7 GB (or 4483 MB if I remember correctly) then you have a dual layer disc.

Ripping programs such as DVDDecrypter will just scan the IFO files and give you most of the info you're looking for.

Thanks for the info. I'll play around with both of those.

Yep, DVD ripper will give you disc layout and clicking on titles and checking streams will give you every soundtrack and subtitle option.
