We currently have a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 that we love. We also have a relatively ancient ProScan big screen TV (PS60682) built into our home theater that has finally started failing (squirelly picture). We rarely use the home theater room anymore as we like the Sony and it is in our main living room with more space, viewable from the kitchen, etc.

Anyway, I digress: Our Sony doesn't have an HDMI input for Blu-ray - well, at least not at 1080p. So we are thinking we may put it in the home theater room and replace it with the latest & greatest in the living room. We really, really like the 60" and don't think we want to go smaller. We want the best available, whether it be plasma, LCD, DLP, XYZ, etc. ;) Have even thought about this new laser HDTV from Mitsubishi, despite the lofty price. The key is that we have no way to do a front projection TV so it must be a "self-contained" unit.

So, assuming you could buy the best 60" TV (or 58" or 65"), what would it be? Looking for best picture, full 1080p inputs, etc. Your only price constraint is to keep it under $8K. So what would it be?

Thanks,

Chris
