So, she was a child prodigy like Kate Bush.
I found her through the fantastic Into The Fire that MTV showed, and bought her Solace album the next day. That album has served me through misery and sorrow. One of the world's greatest albums, ever.
I got her back catalogue (easy at the time, it wasn't big), and followed her as she got big and broke the US with albums more and more MOR, but still pretty good. She did Lilith tours to much success, but not much for us Europeans, but a great impact in the US, and for female artists, so I applaud it, of course.
She went away to have kids, and came back with the bland but still ok Afterglow, and subsequent tour, which I saw.
Then her marriage broke up, which led to the great Laws of Illusion, and then the Shine On, also great.
Since then, Christmas songs?
What happened?
Where is she now?
I remember when Mirrorball came out, Ron even wrote her a 'love letter'. Well deserved.
Just watched her VH1 Storytellers, which made me write this post.
