They lived good long lives and were so proud of their son. In cases like this (famous or unknown) I feel most sorry for the people left behind, such as that their granddaughter will never know her paternal grandparents.

I actually found out about this after catching the tail end of the story on the news ticker on E! while channel surfing late last night.

From what I read on MSNBC today, Al went on with his scheduled concert in Minnesota yesterday, dedicating the show to his parents.
