1st of all - I know very very little about subs. I have a OLD Yamaha that is about 6in across and ALL speaker cables run from the reciever to the sub and THEN to the speakers.

THAT is my trailing edge technology.

My reciever is a Yamaha RX-V520 - certainly not top of the line.

Talk me into SVS and give me clue on what will fit into my 14/20 living room with said reviever.

I urge you to consider getting SVS's new 10" powered sub, which currently selling for $400 is a phenomenal bargain! I don't think you could do better in that price range...or even higher...

    My .02 cents...

"consider getting SVS's new 10" powered sub"

This is the one of two subs I'm considering. The major drawback is the sub is not currently available. The tentative release date is 10/29. I'm patient. I can wait.

SO far all I'm hearing is pleading :b

So - why are these so much better then others and how do you know - what have you compared them too.

Also - where can I find info on the "SVS's new 10" powered sub"

    from the horses' mouth [IMG]

also, we've talked quite a bit about it here on HTF

the reason you hear only pleading is that no one's (outside the company) heard the sub yet; based on SVS' track record with their subs AND some released specs its gotten everyone excited

No NO NO NO NO! Get the cylinder series. Otherwise you'll always get stuck with the "what-if" problem, and wish you spent the extra coin for the bigger unit.

Unless you have a very small room room or are using the sub for mostly music.

I agree with Garrett....if you can go $500, I highly recommend the 25-31 PCi....it's a killer sub, man. Not to mention I've always thought it looked cool as hell in the room [IMG]

Well - I must admit it does have a cool factor AND I'll admit that I've seen it mentioned a lot here.

    SO
Entra matching speakers from RL and Cent ($0)
    25-31 PCi ($575??)
I'll have to start a thread only on surrounds! ($300) :)
