I have been contemplating this title for a while, and I have heard rumors that it will be taken off the market soon, with all those you would think I would already want to buy it, but I just do not remeber liking this movie all that much when I was little, I liked Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King and Aladdin. Should I buy this movie even though I don't like it, is it a great DVD.

Uuuh, this movie was taken off the market several months ago. If you see it at a retailer, then consider yourself very lucky to find it. If you have even the most remote interest in buying it, then you better go back, NOW and get it NOW because this movie more than likely will not be re-released on any video format in the next 10 years.

I thought it was taken off the market but I work at a retailer and have seen this numorous times so I guess I should hide one so I can get it later.

If you don't already appreciate the beauty of this animated classic then leave it on the store-shelf for someone who does. Or if you do buy it try to imagine yourself back in the 1930's going to the theater week after week watching B&W live-action films with occasional color animated "shorts" before each feature. Now imagine going to see a new kind of feature...a full length animated "movie" that will start a whole new genre of entertainment.

It's tough to say because Disney is obviously trying to generate a scarcity, but have they succeeded? Not if there are tons still out there.

However, if they do succeed then buying the DVD would still be a good idea, like the film or not, simply because you could later sell it for more than you paid.

And who knows, with all the extras, etc. you might find you appreciate the film differently now and keep it for yourself.

As far as extra content goes, it's an excellent purchase and anyone who likes the film should already own it.

I bought and watched it and it was great, the video just looks outstanding, and this is a great Disney Animated Movie. If this is how Disney Platinum Movies will be done bring them all on cause Beauty and the BEast will be spectacular

The movie is flawless and the dvd is flawless...the packaging isn't. I don't think a flawless case exists for this movie, due to the fact that the cover is too large for the plastic.
