Sadly, I watched the first half thru the weekend update before I shut it off b/c it was so bad. Why would they do the Nunee skit again? Show tanked IMO. Maybe the last half was better.

Last half was just as bad. I don't like David Spade, so I don't know why I bothered to watch. I actually like the Nunee skits.

The Hilary Swank episode a few weeks ago was really good, though. She was one of the best hosts in recent years.

Truly awful first half. Not a even half hearted chuckle out of the 45 minutes and I usually like Weekend Update with the current pair. I never liked Spade and haven't changed my opinion lately with his run of putrid material he's put out.

The musical guest really surprised me though -- one of the best in my memory though I did miss the U2 show.

I really liked the monologue but the rest was so-so. I was glad to hear that a Best of David Spade DVD is due this fall.

The sketch where Amy played his stunt double and Horatio was Vin Diesel was great as was the Sean Penn Celebrity Roast.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. The Sean Penn sketch was really funny. During the UPS sketch, something Spade said was bleeped out(I'm on the west coast). I think I remember him saying "God" before the bleep so I guessed it was "God damn", it didn't seem like he said "shit" or "fuck". Anyone who saw it live know what he said?

Actually, I thought the last sketch was the funniest of the show. The convention where you can "shoot the highway sign" and challenge the woman with the longest cigarette ash was pretty funny.

    Otherwise, majorily lame!

I am so sick of SNL it has really gone down hill. I watched that new sketch comedy on comedy central the hollow men and laughed my ass off. If you haven't seen it check that show out for real comedy. Sadly I still tune in every week to snl hoping it will be funny.

I thought it pretty much blew too. His entire monologue was based on his Capital One commericals, does he do anything else these days...NO [IMG]

I know it's on a competing network, but you would think he would have mentioned his work on 8 Simple Rules.

I like the Noonee sketch in that whole "rolling my eyes, it's so bad, it's funny" way. I liked the Vin Diesel one, though. And I like Bear City.

Plus, the musical guest was pretty good this week.

Is there any show in the history of televison, that has remained on the air so long on name alone? And if you think SNL is bad...Mad TV is even worse. And I LOVED that show.

I like the Nunis and the Sean Penn skit was great but I think Penn should have been even more clueless. I am disappointed that there was no Hollywood Minute during the news. I hope we see Horatio Sanz as Vin Diesel again.

Well I will agree that this episode was terrible but apparently they did something funny. Apparently they got a little creative with the owen wilson nose in the sean penn sketch.
