Let’s look at Sneakers. Best known today as the director of Field of Dreams (1989) and for creating the TV series The Good Fight (2017–2022), Phil Alden Robinson had a rather mixed entry into Hollywood: he co-wrote the script for Rhinestone (1984) with Sylvester Stallone – which was a dud both critically and commercially – and wrote the script for Carl Reiner’s All of Me (which was successful). After making his directorial debut with In the Mood (1987), he had his breakthrough with Field of Dreams, which not only earned him a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nomination, but has also become an iconic sports movie; his follow-up effort as a director came a few years later with Sneakers. Previously released on Blu-ray and DVD by Universal, Kino has licensed the movie for its UHD Blu-ray debut.

Too many secrets.

This is my favourite heist movie of all time, and one of my favourite movies full stop. Instant purchase. Glad to read this UHD is the best the movie has ever looked at home. Thanks for the review, Mychal!

The review doesn't specifically address this, but I take it that this new master fixes the issue with the prior Blu-ray being too dark?

I didn’t notice it being too dark while watching the 4K/UHD yesterday morning.

Great movie and great disc too. Lovely transfer from Kino. I couldn’t decide which of the audio mixes was superior, but think I settled on the 5.1.
