I must agree that this was indeed the point. Time and again we are faced with the importance of Clark's upbringing. Without the values that the Kent's have instilled in him, he could be a raving supervillain or simply insane. In this episode, we see the ramifications of Cyrus' broken family and lack of nurturing and direction. On the other side of the fence, when Clark found out he was an alien, he was shocked, but he had the support of his family to help him through it. Great illustration, IMHO. Thanks.
