I appreciate the message preview function. However, would you guys not save on bandwidth by removing it? 99 times out of 100, I click on the topic to read it anyway, so... =)

The message preview is enjoyed by many members and as far as bandwidth it has very little effect on it. The majority of the bandwidth hog is the posting of pictures on the site. The preview boxes are text which uses very little bandwidth.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.

That's what I suspected (both for text and pictures). Oh well.

the message preview function is one of the great features of this site, more sites need to use it.

I am so spoiled by the preview feature here that I find myself highly irritated when I visit that other HT site [IMG]
As a side note I would guess that it actually saves on bandwidth as I often use it to look into threads that I don't end up opening. Otherwise curiosity would have me opening almost all the threads.

Thanks to the preview feature Parker so kindly implemented I don't have to click on any threads at all, I'm in and out of here in 10 mins, its great, yikes I'm been here near 12mins, byeee![IMG]
No its really useful because some thread titles can be misleading, for instance, a thread might be titled: 'INDANA JOANES DVDS' and when you pass the pointer over the title you see...'wensit comming oot?'.[IMG]

Oh the irony that I used the thread preview feature on this very thread....not suprising, though, since I employ it with almost every thread.

    an uber-useful feature!

i posted a thread about how i've gotten into the habit of floating my cursor over links at other websites and waiting for the preview to pop!

I am glad you guys like the feature. It was something that I had developed with UBB and carried it over to vBulletin.

It's a great feature. However, not all browsers implement it the same. My IE browsers (multi versions on different PCs) display it fine, but Mozilla only shows a single line. Guess which browser I use here.
