I am revamping my (very) old home theater set-up (from a Sony STRD1015 to a HK AVR325) and want to update some or all of the speakers. I have been using a mixture of Atlantic sub and cubes with an Advent center and a pair of Optimus Linaeum LX5's as rear surround.

I like the size of Bose cubes but am not a fan of that company. Any recommendations for small speakers (at least for the front left and right) where price, quality and size matter?

    Thanks!

For good quality small speakers consider the Paradigm Cinema series or Atoms. Also Energy makes small speakers (take5). By the way its bose not Bose.

Some of those prices are on the high side, and there do not seem to be any take 5's on the market.

Anything smaller? A ideal bookshelf would be less than 12" high if that's even possible.

    Thanks

The Wharfedale Diamond 8.2s are rather on the small side.

NHT superones and zeroes are less then a foot tall. You can still get the old style ones at onecallfor a very reasonable price. Wall or stand mountable.

The zeros look nice. Looking at the warfdales I see at buy.com they have the WH-2's at a great price. They are wider than I prefer but the height is only 7".

What applications would be best for these bi-polars? Front, rear?
