small clarification for Tom Vodhanel (TN'n list) (1 Viewer)

Hi Tom, i was browsing thru some TN'n data on subwoofer and i noticed that on one of your earlier post on this list

servo15 107.3db/21hz and on the later this becomes
107.3/27hz. which is the correct one since this is a big difference.

it's really not that big of a difference...because we don't know the output level at those freqs anyway. TN measured the servo15 WAY back when for VIDEO mag. His style didn't include as much data as it does now. I think the review said the servo15 extended to 27hz in my new large room,which would be 21hz in the old room.(or something like that).

I used to convert all data to the small room,but then changed and now try to convert all data to the large room.

thanks a lot.

can you also help me and give me an idea on how to convert

those data for a small room. my room is about 1700 cuft.

this will be a big help to determine if a certain sub will be enough.

I just took the conversion chart TN published and applied it.

Do you want to convert from his new 7500 room to a fairly enclosed 1700 cu-ft room?

I'd ballpark it at...

16hz/+12dB

20hz/+10

25hz/+5

31hz/+3

maybe 3.5dB gained in the 25-63hz avg data.

that's all just a estimate of course,
