Hmmm. Now that Warners is issuing an OAR blu of Deathtrap...maybe Paramount might take a hint?Mike Frezon said:/t/243028/sleuth-on-dvd/30#post_3540703
Paramount could do worse than to produce a region free BD in the UK (they did shout about how the film had been 'fully restored' for SD); think of the worldwide sales...
Fox released it, but it was a service arrangement with Palomar Pictures and their parent company Bristol-Myers-Squibb. Viacom has had a longstanding relationship with BMS regarding their film library, and at last check Paramount has the DVD rights for SLEUTH, which they have released in R2 but not stateside since the previous Anchor Bay DVD went OOP.Brian McP said:Wasn't the 1972 "Sleuth" a 20th Century Fox release? And was never in stereo -- I have that R1 release and it is beautiful and have played it many times.
I agree. Should have been on Blu-ray long ago. A wonderfully stylish and engrossing mystery. It is now the year 2020.
Just sayin'.
