Wasn't this previously released by Twilight Time? I remember being sad it sold out before I got one. Does this release mean Sony get the rights back? If so, will they use the same transfer or will they have to strike a new one? Glad to see it returning to print, in any case.

TT released in 2013 and sold out in 2016 just a little after TT normal 3 year contract - assuming it falls into the same contract that they announced for other titles.

Is this the title Sony need back from Twilight Time, So they gave Twilight Time some great titles? Or A great title?
I don't understand your questions. Twilight Time sold our their 3,000 allotment of this title. Sony is now releasing it again under their label.

TT said they had a title that SONY wanted back to release themselves, and in return, SONY gave them a couple of (or maybe just one) really good titles in replacement. I thought this might be it.

Are "Sleepless In Seattle" and "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" the only Sony titles that Sony has released after first leasing to Twilight Time? I know a few MGM titles went to Kino after Twilight Time like "Inherit The Wind" and "Judgment at Nuremberg"

“...arguably the definitive romantic comedy of the '90s...” ~ BUSTLE.COM

With a Wink and a Smile, the Timeless Classic
Sleepless in Seattle Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

Written & Directed by Nora Ephron
Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan are Together Again on Blu-ray™, DVD & Digital
CULVER CITY, Calif. (June 1, 2018) – This summer, a beloved romantic comedy that’s remained fresh and charming for 25 years celebrates its silver anniversary. Written and directed by the iconic Nora Ephron (When Harry Met Sally..., Julie & Julia), SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE stars the incomparable romantic duo of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan (Joe Vs. the Volcano, You’ve Got Mail) in the captivating tale of a recently widowed man whose son calls a radio talk-show on Christmas Eve in an attempt to find his father a new wife. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone called the film “Sublime … the hippest, frankest and funniest date movie around … Director Nora Ephron’s a major talent with a wicked gift for tickling the funny bone, exposing hidden truths and then, just when you’re not looking, slamming you in the solar plexus.”

A worldwide box office hit when released, earning more than $220 million, the film was nominated for two Academy Awards® and three Golden Globes®.* SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE also stars Rosie O’Donnell, Rita Wilson, Rob Reiner and Bill Pullman.

This summer is the perfect time to revisit the romance, the humor and the fun of
SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, now available on DVD and digital. A new Blu-ray release of the film will also be available on June 26th, featuring four never-before-seen deleted scenes and additional archival special features featuring the cast and filmmakers.

SYNOPSIS:
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in Nora Ephron’s wonderfully romantic comedy about two people drawn together by destiny. Hanks stars as Sam Baldwin, a widowed father who, thanks to the wiles of his worried son, becomes a reluctant guest on a radio call-in show. He’s an instant hit with thousands of female listeners who deluge his Seattle home with letters of comfort. Meanwhile, inspired in equal parts by Sam’s story and by classic Hollywood romance, writer Annie Reed (Ryan) becomes convinced that it’s her destiny to meet Sam. There are just two problems: Annie’s engaged to someone else and Sam doesn’t know yet that they’re made for each other. Co-starring Rosie O’Donnell, Rita Wilson and Rob Reiner.

SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE has a running time of 105 minutes and is rated PG for some language.

“Golden Globe®” is the registered trademark of the HFPA.

No mention of bonus features? C'mon Sony -- I wouldn't expect anything new but it would be nice if you could at least include what's on the old DVD so I can give that away without losing anything.

Also, what has happened to Meg Ryan of late?

From a different Press Release

  • Four never-before-seen deleted scenes
  • Additional archival special features featuring the cast and filmmakers
I think the extras from the TT release are supposed to account for some of the extras though without the TT isolated score.
Special Features include: Audio Commentary with Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, Love in the Movies Featurette, "When I Fall in Love" Music Video, Theatrical Trailer

Somewhat of an unknown is the listing on a couple sites as MOD and Sony's past history of BD-R's. This doesn't have the Sony Choice label and does at least have a preliminary artwork with the official Blu-ray logo so everyone is hoping that Sony has given up on the burned route. I'm not sure any of their prior burned discs has the extra and audio commentary since I skipped them

I went to a screening of this last night, it was pretty well attended. It made me sad that this type of movies literally aren't being made today. Hanks and Ryan were the King and Queen of Romcoms and Bill Pullman's character was surprisingly sympathetic. I came home and ordered this 25th Anniversary release on Blu since I didn't have it before.
